Glasnevin and Botanic Gardens trip 2011
Excellent trip in the company of 12 Cruthú members and friends. Our guide at Glasnevin was Paddy Glesson from Baltyboys who gave us a fascinating insight into the history of Glasnevin. After Betty's birthday cake in the restaurant we headed to the Botanic Gardens where in addition to the usual exhibits we viewed an exhibition of craft by the West Cork Craft and Design Guild.

Creative voyage 2010
15 Cruthu members set off on a creative voyage through Wicklow on Sunday 14th November on what turned out to be the most relaxing , creative and enjoyable day. The weather was fantastic and everything looked stunning– well at least the scenery did !
The trip took in a number of stops to practice photography techniques. Followed by a visit to Kilmantin Arts Gallery in Wicklow town www.kilmantin.com This a community based art group who operate a shared premises like ourselves. Our thank to Kilmantin president Ted Veal who opened the premises on a Sunday especially for our visit, and his fellow members who were on hand to answer our questions.
After an excellent lunch in Halpins Bridge Café (recommended), we then proceeded to The Wicklow Art Gallery in Rathnew which has an excellent permanent exhibition. The official opening and wine reception for a new exhibition by Kenneth Webb just happened to be going on so we were in quite elevated artistic company. After another photo stop at Clara Vale we headed for home. The end of a perfect day.
Everybody agreed that they would enjoy more similar outings, and we will plan some new itineraries in 2011.

Art Fest 2008 and 2009
A great week-end was had by all. The weather was fine, frosty but no rain.
On Friday night Eric Blatchford from Russborough opened our exhibition, there was a good crowd of people, a bit of wine and some sales. On Saturday and Sunday nights there was a concert in the house, where during the interval those attending the concert, came though our exhibition.
Sunday was our best day for sales and people going through all day. A Special thanks, must go to Emily, Eoghan, and Paul who did trojan work to get all the exhibits so well displayed.
